Finally some updates

Hello everyone,

I just realized that I have not posted anything for more than a year now.... Even though there might not be anyone really looking at this blog, I should still update it... hahaha!

Firstly, the Sembawang CC Archery Club will like to congratulate Abdul Dayyan for his performance in the Youth Olympics held in Singapore! Some of us were there during the Junior Men's individual championships round! Pictures will be uploaded to the facebook site for the archery club! And also in the next post!

Next, more updates on club matters. We are looking into getting more boards for the club! Club maintainence is on the way... I am sorry for the long delays... But we are trying very hard to get everything sorted out with the appropriate funds. Please continue to feedback to us about any concerns that you have.

Sembawang Internal Trials are coming up soon! 19th September 2010. We are preparing our archers for the Thailand Princess Cup that is happening in Oct, so the trials will be 18m 40cm target faces. Traditional bows are welcomed! Also, if the trials have a healthy number of competitors, the results will be used to set up a knock out round the very next week! It will be based on the new set system! So look out for more updates!

There are a lot more plans coming up for more fun activities! Ideas are very welcomed!

Upcoming activities while I am back!

Hello everyone! It is me again! hahah! It is the time of the year that I am starting to do my countdown! hahah! This means, "IT IS ABOUT TIME TO GO HOME!!!" BWAHAHA!

This time, instead of providing you with information of the past events, I am going to list some events that I will try to hold during the period when I am back in Singapore! hahah! No promises though... just many possible events.... It may happen, unless otherwise stated in the post.

The event that is certainly going to happen is the annual SEMBAWANG OPEN 2009! Details are to be confirmed though... I will update the blog once all the details are finalized. Till then, just keep training! Go long distance as it is most probably a long distance competition this time round! I hope I will train in time for this competition too! Metal recurve archers take note! Lionel is coming back with his 28-pound wooden bow to compete with you all at the recurve event! Be "afraid"! WAHAHAHHAHA! (note... provided that the competition is not 1 day after i land in singapore...)

Another event that will definitely occur is the INTERNAL TRIALS! Haha! I brought back this tradition last year before I got to fly off for my studies again... And of course, I will hold at least 1 session when I am back! So look out for more information on this too!

Here is something that may or may not happen, depending on the turnout when I return... I will hold some interesting fun shoots near to the end of the training sessions on some of the sundays.. No promises, but if someone who reads this have some good ideas, feel free to talk to me when I am back, and I will try my best to make it happen!

Sembawang Internal Trials Aug 2008

Sorry guys.... I have to continue posting... (even though no one is looking.... T_T) No one gave me anymore pictures about Thailand Princess cup.... T_T sho... I shall move on to the next event that was organized! and can you guess what it is? hahahah.... it is the SEMBAWANG ARCHERY CLUB INTERNAL TRIALS~! (oh wait... it is in the title..... nevermind.....)

Anyway... In the long long history of the archery club..... (I will specially do up a post in the to talk about this some other time... really very long............) the internal trials was actually a quarterly affair.... which..... died out when the previous committee slowly dissolved due to everyone's work commitments... And finally~! After 1 year of procrastination from Mr. Ang's constant reminders.... The 3rd Committee of Sembawang Archer Club finally pulled it off~!

Ok... Now for the serious stuff... The trials are held over 2 sundays, 3rd August and 10th August. And here are the categories and trial badges criteria:

1) Beginner Category (Outdoor)
2 rounds of 6 ends of 6 arrows.
1st round: 30m, 80cm target face
2nd round: 30m, 80cm target face

2) Intermediate Category (Outdoor)
2 rounds of 6 ends of 6 arrows.
1st round: 50m, 122cm target face
2nd round: 30m, 80cm target face

For both catergories... the scores for the awards are as follows:
Bronze: 400/720
Silver: 500/720
Gold: 600/720
(If you dun think the gold award is difficult... think again... eh... more like... go do the math... average per arrow is 8.3333333333333333333333333333333333. which means..... you need to be within red to have a chance....)

And the harshest rule of the trial is that once you achieve the gold award of the lower category... you have to go up to the next category! This is so that you can improve and challenge yourself! GANBATTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thailand Princess Cup 2008 Day 1

Hello People,

It's me again~! XD Ya... I know it can be boring to see me posting all the time... you can either bare with it... Or go pester the other 2 people who can post... Hahaha!

Yes~! Finally the post for Thailand Princess Cup! But as you can see... It is only for day 1 only... Cos poor me and Teresa have to come back in the morning of day 2... because of ..... WORK.... Haiz.... It was a pity to have to return early... It was such a nice experience! The plane ride, the nice hotel rooms, the large competition hall with a comfortable waiting room, shopping (which I sadly missed out) and of course the COMPETITION!

CONGRATULATIONS TO WINNIE~! *Sets off fireworks* for coming out FIRST in the University Women Category! *Raises Singapore Flag and plays Majulah Singapura* WELL DONE~!

Container painting!
